Hi, I’m Grace — farmer, chocolate lover, and founder of The Happy Cow Chocolate Company.
We’re part of a third-generation family business that started over 75 years ago. But as much as I loved farming, I wanted to do something a little different — something that brought together my love of the cows with my love of chocolate.
We’re a small-batch, bean-to-bar artisan chocolate company, using milk from our own herd, 100% British sugar (to cut down on food miles!) and ethically sourced cacao – grown in the rainforest so no deforestation – to make chocolate that tastes amazing.
Our motto says it best: life should taste good, be good, feel good, and do good. From compostable packaging to supporting cocoa farmers, every bar reflects our belief.
After a lot of training, experimenting, and taste-testing (the best part!), I finally created our first official samples. Our Handmade Blonde Chocolate was an instant favourite, while the others took a few more tweaks to get just right. But I was determined — and after many long days (and plenty of melted chocolate), I think I’ve perfected all of our flavours!
Since then, things have really started to grow. We’ve added some brilliant stockists, had amazing feedback, and even taken our chocolate to local markets — which have been close to sell-outs more than once! It’s been such an exciting journey, and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come.
Throughout the journey, we have been lucky enough to work with amazing couples, fantastic venues and wonderful suppliers to design something personal and bespoke just for them, all made from our delicious chocolate. If you can think it, we can make it out of chocolate!
These days, I still split my time between my lovely cows and the chocolate kitchen — two things that just make me happy. If you’d like to follow along, check out our social media… but be warned, there’ll be plenty of cute calf photos!
