Lemonade Rose
My ethos is to make jewellery that is vibrant, fun and a joy to wear. My jewellery journey began during a time of significant change for me personally and I stand by the saying when life gives you lemons, make lemonade – or in my case, jewellery!
In nature and art, roses are deeply symbolic of being perfectly imperfect. I believe that just like a rose, we are all perfectly imperfect, and our jewellery should be an expression of that. We should all take the time to smell the roses every day. In addition, my daughter’s middle name is Rose, and she often helps me with my jewellery making tasks. It therefore feels fitting to reflect that.
From these two elements the brand ‘Lemonade Rose’ was born.
My polymer clay jewellery is crafted, cured, refined and lovingly assembled by hand in my home workshop. With polymer clay nothing goes to waste and every piece is unique. The items are light weight allowing the wearer to forget about their jewellery whilst making a clear statement and brightening their day.
My silver jewellery features unusual shapes, sea glass from Anglesey and a fusing of styles and metals that are all perfectly imperfect and totally unique. Many of the metals are recycled and I reuse all off-cut materials in my designs so that nothing goes to waste. In fact, I often melt down old spoons, broken jewellery and off cuts to create my wire or make castings. I have been studying jewellery making for many years and love to share my creations with others whether this is displayed in exhibitions, making commissions or gifting to friends and family. I now want to share my one-off pieces with a bigger audience to bring them joy.
My business is founded on the principle that all jewellery should be a joy to wear and share.
